Objective
The client was seeking a reliable, sustainable heating solution for their new high-end London residential property that would significantly reduce their environmental impact whilst providing efficient, cost-effective heating and hot water throughout the year.
About the project
Nicholls Boreholes and Ground Source were commissioned to design, supply and install a comprehensive ground source heat pump system for this residential property in London.
The 7 boreholes were strategically positioned across the property to harness the earth's natural stable temperature for efficient heat exchange. Following drilling, our specialist in-house installation team proceeded with the GSHP installation, connecting the borehole array to a state-of-the-art Stiebel Eltron heat pump system.
The complete installation included all necessary pipework, comprehensive system testing to ensure optimal performance, and full commissioning of the heating and hot water system. The project demonstrates Nicholls' expertise in delivering tailored GSHP solutions for residential properties, even in urban locations where access can present unique challenges.
Nicholls Boreholes completed 7 deep boreholes during the initial groundworks for my GSHP. Almost two years later Nicholls were back to complete the inside installation and commissioning of the Stiebel GSHP working alongside the plumbing contractor. I think my home may be the only domestic property in my London borough to have a GSHP. This part of the overall construction of my home went smoothly and my new GSHP functions really well.
